Ultrafiltration is a process used for the selective elimination of suspended material,
particles, macromolecules, colloidal material and microorganisms. It has a number of
advantages over conventional systems, such as lower consumption of chemicals, greater efficiency in the elimination of pollutants and better filtering quality. These systems can be flat, tubular, spiral or hollow fibre with a pore size from 0.03 to 1 microns, and are very useful for water reuse processes.

Reverse osmosis is a highly effective technique for dehydration treatments, concentration/separation of substances of low molecular weight in solution, or treatment of remains. It has the ability to concentrate solids in suspension or dissolved. The permeate contains a very low dissolved solid concentration.
